Rhode Island's truck scene is small (it's a small state) but serious. Providence anchors the major operations — coffee milk and stuffies on a few specialist trucks, plus the standard Italian-American tradition that reflects Providence's heritage. Newport's summer scene is high-volume and tourist-driven; the seafood operators here include some of New England's best lobster-and-clam shack trucks (see our New England lobster roll guide). Warwick supports a steady weekday lunch scene. The state's permissive truck regulations and dense population make Rhode Island one of the higher trucks-per-capita states in the country.
